GeoRankle.io is a free daily geography game. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

Data We Collect

We use Simple Analytics - a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cookies, does not track you across websites, and does not collect personal information. It only counts page views and general traffic patterns (e.g. which country a visit comes from, which pages are viewed). No IP addresses or fingerprints are stored.

We also use Google Analytics 4 to understand which games are played and how people find the site. In the EEA and the UK it stays switched off until you accept it in the cookie banner: before that, Google receives only aggregated, cookie-free signals and nothing is stored on your device. If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies to recognise returning visits. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser.

Your game progress (scores, guesses, streaks) is stored locally in your browser using localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not sent to our servers.

Cookies

We use no advertising cookies and never sell or share your data. The cookies that may be set are:

  • i18n_redirected - remembers the language you picked so you are not redirected away from it. Set by the site itself and required for it to work as you asked.
  • ga_consent - remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so we stop asking. Required to honour your choice.
  • _ga and related Google Analytics cookies - only set after you accept.

Third-Party Services

Your Rights

We hold no account for you and store no personal data on our own servers, so there is no profile to access or correct on our end. If you accepted Google Analytics, you can withdraw that consent at any time by clearing this site's cookies, which makes the banner appear again. Clearing your browser's localStorage for this site removes your saved game progress.
